Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings is set to undergo surgery on his injured groin.

Jennings has missed four games this season due to the injury, but the surgery is not expected to end his season.

He originally hurt his groin in a Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers and missed the following game against the Chicago Bears. Jennings returned for Week 3's contest against the Seattle Seahawks, but reaggravated the injury a week later against the New Orleans Saints and has not played since.

The seven-year veteran has 12 receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown this season.

There is no timetable for his return.

Green Bay could be further short-handed at the wideout position for Sunday's game against Jacksonville, as Jordy Nelson did not participate in Thursday's practice after sustaining a pulled hamstring the day prior. Head coach Mike McCarthy revealed that Nelson will be held out of Friday's session as well.

Nelson tops the Packers with 40 catches and 532 receiving yards through the first seven weeks and has amassed 17 receptions, 243 yards and four touchdowns over the team's last two games.

Running backs James Starks (illness) and John Kuhn (hamstring) also missed Thursday's practice, while wide receiver Donald Driver (neck) and nose tackle B.J. Raji (ankle) were both on the field after sitting Wednesday's workout.
