Lake Forest, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bears terminated the contract of wide receiver Johnny Knox on Tuesday.

Knox spent the 2012 season on the PUP list due to a back injury, which he suffered during a game against the Seahawks in December 2011. He underwent spinal fusion surgery.

The 26-year-old Knox played in 45 career games (27 starts) with the Bears, hauling in 133 receptions for 2,214 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Abilene Christian product added 1,506 yards on 55 kickoff returns (27.4 ypr) with one touchdown.
