Recap: Ark-Little Rock vs. Arkansas State
Little Rock, AR (Sports Network) - Tramar Sutherland knocked down two clutch free throws with 0.8 seconds remaining to lift the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans to a 62-60 victory over the Arkansas State Red Wolves in a Sun Belt Conference thriller at the Jack Stephens Center.
D'Andre Williams led UALR (15-15, 12-4 SBC) with 18 points. Courtney Jackson added 12 points and Will Neighbour grabbed 10 rebounds as the Trojans ended their regular season by winning three of their last four.
Marcus Hooten paced ASU (12-19, 6-10) with 18 points. Trey Finn netted 12 points and Brandon Peterson grabbed seven boards as the Red Wolves lost for the second time in a row.
The Red Wolves took a 30-24 lead into the intermission after they shot 41.4 percent from the field and made 4-of-4 from the free throw line in the first half.
UALR battled back after the break by making 54.2 percent of its field goals. ASU led through the entire second half until Williams made a layup to tie it up, 60-60, with 37-seconds left to play. Hooten attempted a game-winner on the next possession, but it fell short. Sutherland was fouled with less than a second left on his shot attempt which set up his free throw line heroics.
Despite the loss, ASU finished the game with a 31-29 rebounding advantage and a 15-10 advantage in second-chance points.Game Notes
