Recap: Marist vs. Niagara

Poughkeepsie, NY (Sports Network) - Devin Price erupted for 32 points as Marist took out Niagara, 89-77, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at McCann Arena.

Price converted 7-of-12 shots from the floor and all but one of his 15 free- throw attempts for the Red Foxes (13-17, 7-11 MAAC) as they closed the regular season with two straight wins and four in the final five outings. Chavaughn Lewis and Jay Bowie both tacked on 16 points, the latter clearing a game-high 11 rebounds for a Marist group which is already locked into the eighth seed for the upcoming conference tournament.

The Purple Eagles (13-18, 8-10) were paced by Juan'ya Green with 30 points, six assists and four steals, while Antoine Mason contributed 20 points, eight boards and four dishes as the team bowed for the second time in the last three outings.

Niagara, which is the seventh seed for the MAAC Tournament, shot just 34.5 percent from the field in the first half, including a mere 2-of-10 behind the three-point line, leaving the visitors with a 46-28 deficit at the break.

In the second half Marist, which hit on 54.8 percent from the floor through the first 20 minutes, connected on an even better 55.6 percent in order to take the 12-point win.

The Red Foxes survived 25 unsightly turnovers by outscoring Niagara at the free-throw line, 35-18.
