Recap: Portland State vs. Sacramento St

Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Chehales Tapscott notched a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds as the Portland State Vikings cruised to an easy victory over the Sacramento State Hornets 85-67 in Big Sky Conference action at the Stott Center.

Tapscott also recorded five blocks and three steals for Portland State (13-12, 7-6 Big Sky). Charles Odom scored 16 points, Renado Parker added 12 points, and Martin Whitmore chipped in 10 points for the Vikings, who have won three in a row.

For Sacramento State (9-16, 4-10), Jackson Carbajal had 19 points and Heath Hoffman scored 17. The Hornets have lost back-to-back games following up a four-game winning streak.

Portland State took a commanding 49-22 lead into halftime by shooting an astounding 66.7 percent from the field. Sacramento State made just eight field goals in the half on 28 attempts.

The Hornets shooting improved to 48.5 percent after the break but would never get closer than the 18 points of the lead.

Portland State's 65.2 percent shooting for the game was able to overshadow its 15 turnovers.
