Recap: UC Davis vs. Cal State Fullerton
Davis, CA (Sports Network) - Josh Ritchart scored 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds for UC Davis as the Aggies held on for a 78-75 upset win over the Cal State Fullerton Titans in Big West Conference play at Davis Pavilion.
Also scoring in double figures for the Aggies (5-23, 3-11 Big West), as they won for the third time in the last four games after winning a total of just two contests over the first 24 outings, were Eddie Miller with 17 points, Tyler Les 14 and Tyrell Corbin 10 points. Miller also collected a game-high 12 rebounds for the hosts.
The Titans (19-8, 10-4) were paced by D.J. Seeley who logged a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Isiah Umipig with 15 points, although the latter shot just 5-of-18 from the floor as the team had a six- game win streak snapped. Perry Webster contributed 12 points and Orane Chin 10 for the visitors as well.
Both teams had trouble finding the mark in the first half, but even with just 37.5 percent accuracy from the floor the Aggies still managed to put up a 35-25 lead at the break. UC Davis did hit on 6-of-12 beyond the arc and watched as Fullerton sank just 1-of-6 at the free-throw line.
In the second half, desperate to get back into contention, Fullerton let fly with 19 three-point attempts, hitting just four, which allowed the hosts to capture the three-point win.
