Recap: Sacramento St vs. Montana
Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Will Cherry led all scorers with 17 points as the Montana Grizzlies used a second half comeback to take down the Sacramento State Hornets 67-58 in Big Sky Conference play at The Nest.
Derek Selvig tallied a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds for Montana (19-6, 12-1 Big Sky) while Art Steward pitched in 16 points and eight boards. The win for the Grizzlies is their eighth straight.
Joe Eberhard and Jackson Carbajal both scored 11 to pace Sacramento State (9-15, 4-9). Dylan Garrity added seven assists for the Hornets, who snap a four-game win streak.
Neither team shot well in the first half, with Montana connecting on 30.4 percent of its field goals and Sacramento State making good on 34.6 percent of its attempts. The Hornets did manage to hit five three-pointers in the frame and took a 30-25 lead into halftime.
The Grizzlies heated up after the break however, going on an 18-4 run in the first eight minutes of the second half to take a 43-34 advantage and they would not give up that lead for the rest of the game.
Montana went 27-of-35 from the foul line while Sacramento State went just 11- of-17.Game Notes
