WICHITA (FoxKansas.com) -- A Wichita woman is facing murder charges in the shooting death of a man who was gunned down but was apparently not the shooter's intended target.
Desiree Boone, 34, was being held on a $250,000 bond in connection with the Monday night shooting of Earle R Sullivan Jr., who was fatally wounded Monday night while he was inside a home in the 1800 block of West Mentor, authorities said.
Boone has been charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
Police said the suspect had argued with another woman at the home, believed to be her 29-year-old cousin and who was in the room with Sullivan, 47. It was not clear what the two women were arguing about. At some point during the argument, police say Boone fired a shot through a wall while holding her 1-year-old daughter.
The bullet pierced the wall and traveled into a bedroom where it struck Sullivan, who was sitting in a chair, police said. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene.
Boone is expected to be in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 23.
