Basically, when you file a qui tam (KEY tam) action, the government needs to know your identity. In all likelihood, it will have to disclose your name to the defendant at some point during the proceedings. Technically, during the initial seal or investigation period, the defendant isn't supposed to learn that you've filed the lawsuit. In most cases, however, defendants usually figure it out themselves. After the seal period ends, your identity will be confirmed or revealed to the defendant once the Government announces its decision regarding intervention and the complaint is served. The only possible circumstance where you may be able to keep your identity secret is if you voluntarily dismiss your claim during the seal period. As mentioned before, there unfortunately can be no guarantee of anonymity during this time.
