Today's offices require administrative assistants to be familiar with many kinds of software. An 'admin' assistant's typical day might include using a graphics program to help prepare a presentation for clients, monitoring inventory with an accounting program, and creating letters and proposals with word processing software. Wondering where you could learn the skills necessary to handle the fast-paced career of an administrative assistant? Many technical schools and colleges offer programs with intensive computer training, and instruction in the duties required for these responsible positions. Some of these schools accept scholarships and loans from federal, state, and private entities. In fact, the schools may even have a financial aid officer to help you locate money to receive training as an administrative assistant. Here's more good news: many technical schools also offer job search assistance to graduates. If you're considering a fulfilling career as an administrative assistant, be sure to check out training programs available in your area.
